Hi there!

Finally told everyone about the good news. Everyone r so shocked, just like myself.
I couldn't believe it when i knew abt the news 3 months back too! Unbelievable!

Luckily we have many experienced "mama" in the branch. Millions thanks to our baby consultant-Dr Chan! Yang yang, Nana, elinna, Jess, Eileen too!
Too many 'old wives' tales to hear but it is worth listening & following since there is no harm!
Of course, I must thank my cash officers-Serene and Tammy. They are so nice by carrying all the heavy stuffs themselves. Not to forget the young ones who are excited too...

I have on numerous times logged in here to take a look at how my wonderful ex branch is doing.. but so far.. no update lei! maybe all are so busy these few months...

I miss u all so much... missing all the laughter, jokes, lunches and friends...Though i still get connected with some of you through occasional phone calls, emails etc.. but i just miss the times when i work there.. though busy but worth it...

Over @ my new branch (cannot consider new anymore cus i am almost there for 6 months), the jobscope so different there. My boss is a gd person, some colleagues are fine and I have only 1 best friend so far. Better than none. Haha!

Customers are very different. Heartlanders. You will see old folks come crying cus they were "cheated", phone scams and people come withdrawing a lot of $ cus the kid got "kidnap"..call the police.. so far very interesting..

But overall i still miss u all.. and i wish that i can do more..

I've been bz with my home renovations. It is indeed a very time consuming task!!
imagine all the bickerings over the color and furniture/applicances choices..
now i realised my future house is soo small. after the furniture come in, it will be a mini home.

So far so gd.. but today got one customer scolded my CSA "cock-eyed".. so mean... but anyway he is an ah beng.. so forgive him lah.. maybe he dunno how to explain "cock-eye" in proper english.. hahah...

By the way my leave in July is approved by David. So is ok..as long as not clash with anybody. Colleagues there all take school holidays cus they have kids. I no need. Thanks for remembering! HAhaa!

I MISS U ALL SO SO MUCH!!!

Day 3 @ Yishun Central. Today I receive my new staff pass which states "Yishun Central". And I have to return the old one to them. I stared at my old pass for some time. Not willing to let it go and was tempting to call them see if I can retain it for memory sake... but i know it's not possible so I quickly took an envelope and acknowledged it back.

Huge difference between the 2 branches. Positive and negative. But I shall not make any comments between the 2. Because all branches have different practices and I just have to adapt.

Customers are all very nice @ Yishun Central. NO SK. NO phone calls from customers. Mainly phone calls only from departments.

Jo: Your sharing is so interesting. I wish I could have seen the action @ Hougang. I wondered how the police's face looked like when the man started to climb over the counters and I wondered if the CSAs were screaming. How interesting if we can share the video.

Did anyone miss me or not? *sob*

Actually, I felt that every one should transfer branches every 3 years to experience new things and new people. Over @ my side, the CSA over rotate counters 3 months each time. They are very good in their work. Maybe their transactions are not as complicated as UBT.

I totally agree what Michael said. Those who are posted out from UBT will definately survive. But those who are transferred into UBT may not get used to it. I had learned a lot in UBT and had put it into good use when I am @ Yishun.

Anyone wanna join me is welcome. :)

The staff @ Yishun are laughing at me cus I am just seated next to the washroom. Therefore I told them that each time they go toilet I will collect $0.20 and for the *big* case, I collect $0.50. Should they need toilet paper (where the stock of toilet paper is just behind me), I charge "package" - $0.80. Not bad hor? I got sideline lei... Actually I am not only seated near washroom. The fridge and pantry is also next to me only. How great. I never run short of food and water.

By the way, I met a relief officer this week @ our branch. She mentioned that she once came to UBT as a mystery shopper and she saw some of you wearing flats and slippers... Must be careful wor... dun let others catch u guys... hee hee...

i think i'm becoming a sleeping pig...i feel super exhausted after i'm back in s'pore.
Guess what, i slept an average of 12 hours for the past few days.
i went to see the doc yesterday.. it is some post-holiday blues that i'm suffering..
whole body so tired and aching..worse till, he said i have LOW blood presence...will faint in anytime....must fuel myself with food before i faint.....

Hello peeps!

Lynn on marriage leave and the blog became stagnant..so i shall pop in and write a few words..

A bit of updates here n there:
I think tricia is doing v well @ cso counter..yilin still trying to pick up skills n coping fine with her counter..geraldine a bit bored--i think she'll b more den happy to go 4 i-branch training asap so tt she can faster apply what she've learnt frm HM..Cecilia getting more sad as each day passes cuz tt will only mean she will be leaving SOON!

So far so good.

Just nw went to meet one of my friends frm Hougang Br n she told me sth tt was quite happening @ her br today (i think it's really MORE than happening after listening to her):

There was a malay guy waiting outside her br b4 opening hrs this morning--he was wearing a MacDonald's jacket n carrying 3 bags full of clothes. After the br was opened, he went into the br n went up to one of the tellers (not tt fren of mine though, cuz she was doing backrm today),gave her his ic n told the teller he wanna withdraw $1K frm his a/c.

Via normal procedures,the teller checked under i-br but realised there were no records of his ic. The guy not v happy n repeated tt he wanna withdraw $1K.The teller bo pian n went into backrm to cfm w officer.

The guy Really has NO a/c with our Bank.

The teller went out to the banking hall w one of her officers n told e guy their findings. The guy turned agitated n nasty,pointed his finger straight @ the officer's nose n demanded tt they withdraw $1K frm his a/c n he shall give them only ONE hr to do so.

According to my fren,the guy stood motionless @ one corner, (see my typing Carefully ah--M.O.T.I.O.N.L.E.S.S), facing all the tellers n waited n stood in tt "pattern" for almost 45 mins,until 10.15am.

In tt "ordeal" of 45 mins,the guy repeatedly shouted, SHOUTED (mind you), very fiercely @ the teller n demanded tt she withdraw $1K for him.I think it's almost screaming le ba..The CM feel tt the guy don't look quite right (although he looked just like any normal guys) but somehow,something wasn't quite right.

So my fren told all the tellers to remove their keys frm their drawers, evacuated all other customers,cisco guard on standby n the CM rang the police.

The police came but the guy refused to leave.By then all the tellers were scared stiff cuz the guy was quite agitated tt he couldn't get any $$$ from his so-called "account".Out of a sudden,the malay guy attempted to climb the high counters n reach for the petty cash drawers.

But of cuz,b4 the guy can do so,the police got hold of him n handcuffed him.Then they brought him to the police stn.

*End of the Hougang Br ordeal for 27.05.2008*

Wa..too happening le..Lucky tt fren of mine told them to remove all their drawer keys n the CM is alert enough to rang the police..or else who knws what e guy will do??

Some of these lessons are still applicable to our lives...
I like lesson 5!

Lesson 1: A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbour. Before she says a word, Bob says, 'I'll give you $800 to drop that towel.' After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves. The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, 'Who was that?' 'It was Bob the next door neighbour,' she replies. 'Great,' the husband says, 'did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?'

Moral of the story: If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2: A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, 'Father, remember Psalm 129?' The priest apologized 'Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.' Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3: A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.' 'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.' Puff! She's gone. 'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.' Puff! He's gone. 'OK, you're up,' the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, 'I want those two back in the office after lunch.'

Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4 An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, 'Can I also sit like you and do nothing?' The eagle answered: 'Sure, why not.' So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5 A turkey was chatting with a bull. 'I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree' sighed the turkey, 'but I haven't got the energy.' 'Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?' replied the bull. They're packed with nutrients.' The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree. He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bull Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there..

Lesson 6 A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him. As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story: (1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy. (2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend. (3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

Who has never had a bad day? Recently I also feel a bit demoralised. I felt that I have made a few "uncalled" for mistakes in work. I hate it when I have so many rejects in cheques like today. I dunno why.. I felt lost. Lost in directions at times. Or maybe confused. I think there are still a lot of stuff @ work that I duno & unsure of. More towards the senior officer duties. So Lynn, if you can, maybe you can give me more time to understand more on the job. Rather than one day if I am transferred out to other branch, I will be very embarassed to tell other people "I dunno".

Lynn, I think that the best way you can collect constructive feedback is to ask the people to provide theirs annonymously. Provided that they dun write nonsense in the feedback such as "blow" that kinda thing... ;) Then perhaps, you will receive what you might want to know...

You guys know what? I just finished playing online mahjong... tomorrow sure look like panda. Only look forward to eat Belle's breakfast. Think of it now i am soooo hungry leh... but cannot eat @ night... my husband already hinting that my wasitline is diminishing... Of cuz lah... think i am the FHM babe meh??? Hi everybody.

Seem like Lynn and Jo are the only active bloggers in this blog. It's been long time since I had my last posting here. My laptop is under servicing for almost one month with Toshiba servicing centre. They are supposed to purchase a new 1.0 GB RAM. I have made numerous calls to them and finally managed to pressure them to get it ready by 21 April.

Actually, $150 for one housing loan referral is easy $$$$. I want to join in the action too. I have to start picking up more call in and that is the only way officer can make housing loan referral. But sad to say, most of them are big and small "SK".

Jos has become our Senior Trainer already. JIA YOU.

beginning to like working on saturdays..

i suddenly realise that it's better not to serve the regulars, 'cause u won't be getting any referrals if u serve too many of them.

That's why saturdays are good as there are so many more other customers coming in for all kinda SK..it's a "good" time to refer them some other products.

I think tt explains why i have..hmm..i think about 5 referrals,including 1 housing loan.

I really hope victor will b able to close case with tt lady..den i can get $150 referral fee!

But no choice..it's really quite stressed working with those sales thing..

Other than realising tt saturdays r a good sales "opportunity",i came to realise tt it's always better for us to keep ourselves happy,so tt we can keep ourselves ALERT to "prospective" customers.

Hi all,

I just reached home not too long ago from a late dinner @ Tampines Mall after my 6-9pm course. A fun and interesting course that I went to and hope to share with you guys! I reached the course late cus there was a jam on the PIE and the cab fare almost shocked me! $22.00 man... so expensive...

I AM, of course, looking forward to my holiday in BKK.. so tired man.. i think i can sleep the whole day in the hotel and after that, go for a good massage and dinner at the local thai restaurant which i often patronise.. If anyone of you would want to have local flavours, ask me.. I am the walking street directory there... heh heh...

Tampines Mall has changed a lot.. a lot of shopping man... i wish the shops didn't close so early though... by the time i want to shop, it's all close... the only thing i got to do there is to top up my mrt card while waiting for my Mother In Law to finish her work @ 1030pm and go home together... duh...

Maybe our boss Lynn should go to work every day in the nice make up and hairdo as in her ROM pics.. it will look very gd... as mentioned in my course today.. we all have to look gd and professional lei... as the boss, maybe lynn u want to start first??? Heh heh!!

I think i have to go bed now.. tom is the "last day" of my work week! Hope tom after we reach the branch, there will be a down pour of HEAVY RAIN ok?!??

Hi All...

I just came back last nite from my holiday. It was pretty enjoyable though... But for sure i ate ALOT!! What not? All the restaurants there are 99% Halal!! I had Subway sandwiches 3 times!! We ate Kenny Rogers like no one's business!! Now if anyone is to offer me KFC, i think i'll puke out!! I'm sick of chicken... ARGH! I don't know what's wrong with me, but these few days i feel nauseous... But Monday i'll go and check at the doc's again.

Heh heh... thanks for the well wishes.. Julia & me are planning for the treat.. but for now.. we will have to wait for Mdm Chairwoman of our welfare department to come back from her block leave so that she can plan it out nicely when we can give a treat so that everyone gets to eat... :)

Meanwhile Mr Forever 25 will be giving the treat on our meeting day 28th! His food is the best.. Mdm Chairwomen had the best menu prepared... haha.. but ours might not be too lousy too..

I just fixed my new PC speakers and is listening to some really nice mp3s to test the speakers out.. i got them at the IT show for $29.00. Creative brand.. why do i have to continue to contribute to Mr Sim's company since he is already doing so well... ???
But I cannot deny that the Creative speakers with the booster is really gd... I shall test them out when i play games later... ahhahahhhahhhah!! talk about playing games i go bonkers man!

I am back again!! Imagine I juz sat down in front of the laptop to read our blog and type finally.. 930pm already lei... watching tv and blogging at the same time..still cooking the chinese medicine..

anyway i went through the blog... and i got a few things to comment lei..

1) Belle is certainly a piggy... sleep so much until 4pm!!!! the lastest i slept till was only 3pm lei... without any breakfast and lunch.. juz sleep and sleep... ;p

2) Lynn always mosquitoes on her face becus she now have a "romantic" mosquito beside her every nite to *muak* her o her face ma. no wonder always got "bites" on her face lah..... wahahhaahah!!

3) Michael Chan is not @ reservist... he is back to the army for hot gossips and enjoying his boat ride to tekong for a field trip.. still can say he quite enjoy gossiping and sharing some gd times with his friends lei... while we are working like ^&**#@ here with all the SK..how can??? haha...

Hi everyone

Come back home for my weekend after one week of scorching heat and "Big" Sun. Completed my LIVE Firing at Lim Chu Kang. Reached Camp at Bedok around 1am on Friday and only get to sleep around 2am after clearing my store. Most important thing is that I have cleared my IPPT (individual proficiency physical test) for this year. No need to go RT... yeah.........

Reporting back to camp this Sunday at 9pm to prepare our 3 days 2 nights trip to P. Tekong next week. By the end of the ICT, hope that I will not be "burn". Frankly speaking, it is quite fun. Get to see my friends, talk nonsense with them and update each other.

This blog is very useful. Thanks to the creator. Alll of us are able to air our difference and misunderstanding here. The sky is clear now and we shall work hand in hand to make UBT a nice place to work in.

Hmm..how do i say leh..I personally feel tt e things brought up by lynn for this mth's mtg is a very big issue in the 1st pl.Teamwork and cooperation is still e top priority n a main concern.

I think that Cecilia got some points correct there.. We should treat each other more like friends than colleagues. That way maybe we could work better together, ie as a TEAM. Hi all,

I came to read all the blogs from our dear friends in UBT when Elinna told me today. So i came in to read now when I am quite free. Husband is out of town and me lonely with dear Oscar. It's quite interesting.. updated so much and so much to read.. from puking on shirts to BCC.

I think what I want to say from reading the blogs is that wherever we work, there are bound to have different opinions and ideas and therefore lead to miscommunications. Sometimes, it is good that we can raise up the issues to one another. In that way, we can understand what is going on and clear up any, I say, if any, misunderstandings. I think it is fate that all of us can work together. We should always try to work together happily, treat each other like friends and not only colleagues. Then, we can create a more happy working environment. Rather than we keep unhappy things in our chest. I am sure we do not want to feel any regrets that we never spend happy times in the branch when we get transferred out next time. Right? :)

I once have had a misunderstanding with a colleague. I felt so bad and sad. And one fine day, I couldn't stand it any longer. I managed to call up the colleague and asked what I had done wrong. I felt much better after clearing up the misunderstanding. We work together happier nowadays. Isn't it better? It is, and I did not regret calling the person up.

So the conclusion is.. if you have any unhappy things keeping inside u.. why dun u open up to someone? Maybe that might help? But hor.. I never ask u to go and quarrel hor.. hahha...

Anyway, what should I do later? I am still brewing my chinese medicine. Should I play my game? Or should I watch the Oscar Awards? Hmmm... if I play game... tomorrow sure look like Panda bear. how how how???

I'm glad that the issues of B**k c*sh cou**ing (BCC) is raised up by Bell and Jos in this Blog.

First of all, I agree that 'rules are dead, it can be bent". But the question is how flexible can we bend it?? Have all of you thought of this point. I believe most of you will agree that the officers in UBT has exercised flexibility in most of the issues that was raised up previously or even attending to your personal needs and customer issues.

The rules and processes are laid down in order to have a smooth operation. The main concern of BCC during operational hour is "Customer Service". I think Bell has already mentioned that "some things are just so unpredictable... just like the customers... for 10 mins there isn't a single soul ard & when you thought you didn't wanna waste your time and do something else... & when you turn back (or rather got scolded & know abt it)... WOW! where did all these h**l of pple come from? This is where I am coming from. Since it is so unpredictable, why are we risking from getting customer complaint where it will directly impact the counter staff concerned.

As for Jos's comment, we would be very interested to know how are we very different from other branches. Should there be any big deviation, we will defintely look at it.

Anyway, there is always room for compromise. Discuss this during the meeting and put a full stop on it.

I have to make it clear that my primary concern is always with all of you and not my personal agenda.

Jo... on 2nd thoughts i think you're right... i remember we had this course on 'Changes' right? i guess it's the same when Maria got transferred out and we weren't too use to it? Sometimes i think there's alot of things which are constantly changing and we NEED to get use to it... be it anything at all...

Guess we still have a long way ahead of us... different pple do works in different way... though not use to it but we still have to accept it no matter what... though it SUCKS! -LoLxx- I was on my way to somewhere... and i was constantly thinking how i should react to this problem... (can you even imagine thinking abt work when i'm off?) then i thought abt the course we went through... -sigh- it indeed sucks alot...

And yeah,i knw what u're referring to,belle.

I guessed all of us knows.

All i can say is,although it's our Personal choice to choose to half-work-half-study,it's impt tt all of us can cooperate with each other in one way or another. Not that we don't want to comply with the "rules",but even the concrete "rules" we found states that we're in no wrong--it's all up to the branch's discretion.

Just exactly how many times we have part-time reliefs coming in and come up to us,saying "wa..ur br VERY special...how come the way you all do things are so Different from other branches?"

Hmm...how do you expect us to answer?

I'm just back from school... having dinner now... today is the last day of CNY... die die also must come home eat dinner... difference is i eat alone facing the 4 walls... -sigh- Me, myself & I...

Today wasn't really a good day(maybe for me only)... i guess Jo knows why... and i guess i don't intend to bring it up cos it's always abt the c***p***** (Jo, can figure out what it is? -LoLxx-) thingy... it's not abt personal attack i wanna do anyway... just that i felt sometimes things have to be a little more flexible... just like the saying... Had my first manicure & pedicure treatment today.
what a disappointment. I ruined the colour in less than 5 mins.
It is supposed to last given the layers of oil applied..
hiaz anyway, not likely to revisit this 'Nails Palace' again.

Just bck half an hr ago from my husband fren's home... went over for steamboat dinner... brought my son along... AND just when we're abt to reach (in the car @the carpark looking for a lot)... he puked on me... so stressed... no clothes for me to change... had to borrow from his fren's mum... even the 'inside' got wet too... had to use towel to cover up... damn 'ma-lu'... watsmore there're sooooo many of their relatives & frens ard... gone up to his place all covered in vomit...!!! Can anyone imagine how 'suay' i am?? -sobz-

anyway... stil can't stand the smell... took 2 30 mins shower but still feel like i can smell that stench... wash til my skin all wrinkled up le... i tink it's just all abt the mind... guessed i'm too tired... gotta go ZZzzZzZzzzzzz.....

fell sick yesterday!

So loooong never fell sick liao..

Ben lai thot can tahan thru work time but in e end..i still succumb to the cold tt's creeping up...haiz..But anw,really thks to michael for letting me take half-day mc, julia who took over my counter halfway thru,cecilia hu helped me check thru my vouchers n stock and all the others hu helped me in one way or another..

Today feeling better liao..

Yeserday went to c doc..diao..hv to Q for so long cuz e Q damn long..but i think e doc gave me quite a strong flu med cuz i fell aslp after finishing my lunch n med..

By the time i wake up,it was already 2am liao..

Yah..missed my sch yesterday--Banking LAW!!

Die..cnt catch up again...

Really stressed...exams coming up end APRIL!!!

Today is my off day... i was awaken by my stupid sneezing & nose irritation!! Argh!! I hate it man.. I wish there is a cure permanantly to my nose sensitiveness. When i start to sneeze, there is no stopping until i pop the pill... This is my 2nd round of pills from the doctor. He said this set of pills is better than the first, but it's the same to me... I don't know what next he's going to give me... Argh!!! I tought i could sleep till 12 noon today!!

Anyway, i enjoyed yesterday's "Lo Hei".It was something new to me though. At first i couldn't stand the smell of the abalone when i was cutting it... Honestly, i felt like vomittting. YULKS!! I was holding back my breath. But after it was being mixed in together with the other ingrediants, it wasn't bad at all... The one i like the most was the "gold".. Yum, yum... Now i will always look forward for every "Lo Hei" there is..!!

Aiyah... see the time now.. I think i better get going.. Coz i still have lots to do.. I have to wash the toilet, vacuum the house, go to supermarket and cook!! I thought of making some muffins or cupcakes too, but see lah how. That is , if I am not too tired.. Dont know if i have time to continue my sleep or not.... hehe..

Would like to use this special day to visit maria for "bai nian" but it seems tt a lot of ppl cmi as some hv dates,some school,some got appts etc etc.

If not for Irfan opening my eyes, i would have woken up at 1200.

Spring cleaning is indeed tiring...

Me only do half the kitchen n i'm like a dead log liao...

which is exactly i hate chinese new year---why do the spring cleaning only once a year?Like my bedroom ah..i do once a month..so right now my rm dun nid any cleaning,just wipe,sweep and mop..but i can't really be bothered with kitchen.

It's the most "disastrous" place to clean.

Herm...the best is dun hold any meetings so we won't hv a headache fixing dates!

-phew- just finish doing all the spring- cleaning for CNY... so tiring... just wash finish the toilet!!! -argh- my hands are starting to crack cos of the detergent!!! Need to use more moisturizer!!!

Anyway Lynn... our branch really has too many staffs studying... trying to meet one day for meeting is really tough... suggestion for this problem... eh... can't think of any now... but 船到桥头自然直。。。一定有办法的。。。
